Set in 90 acres of parkland,Tredegar House is a fine example of a 17th century Charles the 2nd mansion, parts of the house even dating back to the 1500s. Take a guided tour of the staterooms and the servants quarters below stairs and you can get a feel of what life was like in those early days. Great for the gentry upstairs, but not too good for the servants below,( the parlour maid being paid about £10 per year!)
There is a gift shop, The Brewhouse where you can have a cooked meal and refreshments
In the grounds you will find a boating lake, woodland walks a childrens playground, and plenty of space for the kids to kick a ball.
